The James House

James House provides support, advocacy, and education for people in the Greater     Tri-Cities Region affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking to empower them to become healthy, safe, and self-sufficient.

In partnership with trained volunteers and community impact partners, each year James House is able to provide crisis services for over 1600 people who live, work or play in the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg and the Counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, Surry, Sussex and Southern Chesterfield. All services are trauma-informed, cost-free, confidential, and available in both English and Spanish, and include a 24-hour crisis hotline, safety planning, emergency shelter, support groups, counseling, children’s programs, hospital accompaniment, legal advocacy, and case management including goal setting and personal coaching.
